Accent Lighting Design

Fixture Settings and Adjustments

These tutorials will demonstrate how to add new accent lighting fixtures and lamps to the database.

			Adding a Manufacturer This lesson will demonstrate how to add a new accent lighting manufacturer to the database.
			Adding Fixture Categories Learn to add new categories of accent lighting fixtures to the database.
			Adding Fixtures to the Database Learn to create new accent lighting fixture configurations.
			Adding Lamps to the Database Learn to create a database of lamps for assignment to a fixture.
			Symbol and Color Assignments Learn to assign a symbol and colors to represent a fixture or transformer on the design screen.

Symbol Placement

In this lesson you will learn the method of placing accent lighting symbols on the design screen.

			Fixture Placement Learn to place an accent lighting fixture symbol by setting two points on the design screen.
			Transformer Placement Learn to an accent lighitng transformer symbol on the design screen.

Wire/Cable Placement

In these lessons you will learn how to draw wire or cable from the fixture symbols to the transformer, and how to "hop" a wire on one circuit over a wire on another circuit so they they do not appear to be connected on the design.

Calculations

In these lessons you will learn how to perform lighting calculations.

			Total Wattage Learn to calculate the total wattage of all fixtures on the design screen.
			Lighting Calculations Learn wire sizing and voltage drop calculations.

Helpful Commands

These commands are not direct lighting design commands, but they are helpful just as well.

Draw Order
Learn to use the Draw Order commands to move entities on top of or below other entities on the design screen. This is a great tool for moving trees on top of shrub symbols or wire below fixture symbols.

Array
The Array command allows you to create rectangular, polar, or path array of any object or objects on the design.

			Rectangular Array Learn to copy or duplicate the selected object(s) a specified number of times in rows and columns at any angle.
			Polar Array Learn to copy or duplicate the selected object(s) in a circular pattern.
			Path Array Learn to copy or duplicate the selected object(s) at any spacing along an existing line or curve.

Revision Cloud
Revision clouds are used to draw attention to sections of a design during the review stage. The Revision Cloud command will allow you to draw a revision cloud made up of three or more points on the design screen. All revision cloud lines are automatically placed on the Revision Cloud layer in the Layer Manager.
